Andrew McNaughton - Trumpet
Andrew is a musician, composer and songwriter who has performed in over 20 countries in musical genres ranging from jazz, commercial and latin, through to classical, avant-garde and world music.
Chiefly an improviser, he has played and recorded as a sideman in numerous small groups and big bands.His musical theatre playing credits include, among others, HIGH SOCIETY (The Production Co. & Orchetra Victoria), SINGIN' IN THE RAIN (IMG/David Atkins), TIVOLI (Sydney Dance Company/Australian Ballet), CHICAGO (IMG), THE BOY FROM OZ (Ben Gannon), THE SUNSHINE CLUB (QTC/STC) and ANNIE (Orchester des Muenchner Theaters).
1999-2001 saw him teaching trumpet and lecturing at The Queensland Conservatorium of Music, The Queensland University of Technology and The University of Southern Queensland.
Over the last 7 years he has been a featured soloist and composer throughout Europe with UNTERBIBERGER HOFMUSIK(including Claudio Roditi), PERFECT FIVE and ART BOP among others.
In 2002 he wrote the original score for the short film CLAUDIA'S SHADOW, and more recently he has been composer/sound designer for THE DAYLIGHT ATHEIST and HINTERLAND (both for Melbourne Theatre Company) and RUBY MOON (Playbox Theatre Company).
He has spent the last 2 years in the service of Her Majesty, employed as a musician in the RAAF.
